My mom predicted that Judah would be an early crawler when he was only a few weeks old, and I guess she was right! Judah has loved being on his tummy since he was tiny, and could push his chest up off the ground very early. He still loves being on his stomach best and if he accidentally rolls onto his back, he'll flip himself over again.
Moses was strong as a little baby (he rolled over for the first time at 2 weeks) but he was just this solid, immovable mass for a long time. Plus, he was never really that interested in toys as an infant - he was more interested in people. He's always been about action, not details.
Moses at 4 months
Judah, however, notices everything around him. Toys, people, the corner of the rug, the fringe of the dog's tail, a piece of red fuzz - he sees it all and wants to examine it. Maybe that element of his personality is what motivated him to crawl so early. Plus, he's not a s0lid mass of baby fat like Mo was, so maybe it's just easier.
Here he is, my amazing crawling baby. (I know, I know, all babies crawl. But don't all moms think their baby is incredible the first time they do something new?)
Notice the cute little ball my mom made for Judah. :)

Wow! Yes, that's early. Jude just started crawling too a few days ago. He's 8 1/2 months! :)
WOO-HOO!
And look at those totally adorable squishy baby thighs! (when does that stop being cute?)

He is amazing! the charming thing about baby mobility is: It's a baby! (i'm thinking that possibly the reason Mo decided to wait was the amount of lower body mass he had to lift!) And now the question: what is he doing a week later? can't wait to see him - love, Minna
