Clementine, 2 weeks old

This little punkin' is really starting to "wake up" a bit, with longer (daytime) awake, alert periods and more interest in her surroundings. Richard especially is really enjoying that. Mama's feeling it to be a bit more bittersweet. Those very first newborn days are so incredibly precious, and over so soon.

"In the sheltered simplicity of the first days after a baby is born, one sees again the magical closed circle, the miraculous sense of two people existing only for each other, the tranquil sky reflected on the face of the mother nursing her child."
-Anne Morrow Lindbergh in
Gift of the Sea
